Waste Management Licence

Environmental Permits for Waste Management

We offer environmental solutions throughout the UK. Many old waste management licences were granted many years ago and are gradually being replaced by new style environmental permits under the Environmental Permitting Regulations. New style environmental permits are therefore easier to read and understand where compliance is required.

Paul Downing & Associates can help with new permit applications too. If you operate a transfer station, food factory, manufacturing site, waste site or landfill operation then we will help you upgrade to a consolidated environmental permit. You will need to establish a contaminated land baselines and conduct a risk assessment in order to support the application. Our consultants can provide all of these services plus the numerous other documents and procedures required.

Environmental Permits for Waste Companies

Paul Downing & Associates works with waste management companies, metal recyclers and ELV (end of life vehicles), facilities helping them upgrade their waste management licence to environmental permits. We start by liaising with the Environment Agency and conducting the appropriate surveys in order to complete the variation or application on your behalf.

If your waste operation is growing and you need to add more European Waste Codes (EWC’s) or increase the waste volumes allowed by your permit our experts can help. We have a good track record of providing environmental solutions to waste management companies, assisting with appropriate permits and licences.

After several failed attempts trying to deal with the EA ourselves, we eventually employed Paul to complete our ELV permit transfer from a previous site owner. His consultancy service was professional and resulted in the EA completing a successful transfer of ownership from the previous owner to us.
