WAMITAB Certificate

WAMITAB (Waste Management Industry Training Advisory Board). This is the Certificate of Technical Competence (CoTC) qualification you will need therefore to operate a waste site. There are also differing levels of the qualification depending on the risk of your waste operation and permit type.

You cannot obtain a permit without this qualification.

All permit applications therefore require WAMITAB registration. The Environment Agency will check your qualification status. Because you usually have to complete the course within 12 months of obtaining the permit.

The course demonstrates that you have an understanding of UK waste legislation.
