Funding for SME’s

Paul Downing

All too often the intention is there with regards to implementing an environmental or energy project but the stumbling block is always cost and payback.

If you are an SME (small to medium size enterprise) defined as having a turnover of less than £250m and less than 250 staff then you may be able to take advantage of funding and grants that are available out there to help get your project off the ground. The Government and the European Union are falling over themselves to encourage business to invest in environmentally responsible projects that mimimise impact and reduce resource usage.

If you are considering an environmental project such as ISO 14001 implementation or an energy efficiency drive that requires investment, make sure you are maximising the return on your project by getting the no strings funding that is available. Most funding is for smaller projects of less than £10k and the maximum funding available is up to 50% of the project cost on the current scheme I am a supplier to.
