Environmental Consultant or Environmentalist?
There is a difference!
The modern environmental consultant is usually employed to help businesses comply, adhere to or find ways of minimising the impact of environmental legislation or other planning related restrictions on their business, whereas an environmentalist is someone concerned with minimising the impact of human actions on the environment.
If you are looking for someone to help you with a planning restriction or piece of legislation applying to your business activities, make sure you employ the former and not the latter. The two are not mutually exclusive but it is usually better to employ someone with business experience (an environmental consultant) and a practical application of environmental legislation in the work place.
